Our formulation is crafted from naturally derived botanical oils, nourishing plant butters and purified water. Shea Butter (Comedogenic Rating: 0–2)

A luxurious botanical butter extracted from the nuts of the African shea tree. Naturally rich in fatty acids, Shea Butter helps nourish, soften and support the skin's natural moisture barrier, leaving skin feeling smooth, comforted and beautifully conditioned.

Mango Butter (Comedogenic Rating: 0–2)

Obtained from the kernels of the mango fruit, Mango Butter is renowned for its rich emollient properties, helping to deeply condition the skin while improving softness and lasting comfort.

Kokum Butter (Comedogenic Rating: 0–1)

A premium botanical butter pressed from the seeds of the kokum fruit. Kokum Butter helps create a firm, long-lasting soap bar while supporting skin conditioning and maintaining softness.

Sweet Almond Oil (Comedogenic Rating: 2)

A gentle botanical oil that helps soften, soothe and nourish the skin while supporting its natural moisture balance.

Jojoba Oil (Comedogenic Rating: 0–1)

Closely resembling the skin's own natural oils, Jojoba Oil provides lightweight hydration while helping maintain healthy moisture balance without feeling heavy.

Safflower Oil (Comedogenic Rating: 0)

A lightweight botanical oil that helps soften and hydrate the skin while supporting the skin's natural protective barrier.

Babassu Oil (Comedogenic Rating: 1–2)

Water

Purified water is used during the soap-making process to dissolve the sodium hydroxide and enable traditional saponification.

Sodium Hydroxide

A mineral-derived alkali used only during soap making. During saponification it reacts completely with the botanical oils and butters to create true soap and naturally occurring glycerin. Once curing is complete, no active sodium hydroxide remains in the finished bar.

During the traditional soap-making process, these botanical ingredients are transformed into true soap through saponification. A precisely measured sodium hydroxide solution is essential to this process, reacting completely with the oils to create soap and naturally occurring glycerin. Once the soap has fully cured, no active sodium hydroxide remains in the finished bar.

This natural production of glycerin is one of the defining characteristics of artisan cold process soap, helping the skin feel soft, comfortable and beautifully hydrated after every use.

The Art of Traditional Cold Process Craftsmanship

Our soaps are handcrafted using the traditional cold process method—a technique respected for centuries by artisan soap makers.

Unlike many commercially manufactured cleansing bars, cold process soap is created slowly and intentionally to preserve the integrity of carefully selected botanical ingredients.

Every batch is mixed by hand, poured into moulds and patiently cured for four to six weeks. This extended curing process creates a harder, longer-lasting bar with a luxurious creamy lather and a wonderfully gentle cleanse.

Rather than removing naturally produced glycerin, as is common in many commercial soap manufacturing processes, it remains within every Laur Epoque soap to help support the skin's natural moisture balance.

Directions for Use

Wet both the soap and your skin with warm water before creating a rich, creamy lather between your hands or onto a soft washcloth.
